Works to the Sir Robert Alexander Ferguson Statue at Brooke Park, Derry
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council Elisha McCallion and Michael McCann, Woodvale Foreman, inspect the works to the Sir Robert Alexander Ferguson Statue at Brooke Park, Derry. The statue, sometimes known as the ‘Black Man’ has been in the park since 1840 and at its present location since 1927. Restoration of the bronze statue on its granite plinth has been undertaken by our specialist subcontractor, Ed Barton. The statue has been cleaned and old paintwork removed, graffiti removed and stone inserted to repair the plinth.
