Woodvale wins another contract in London
The existing private dwelling is located in a Victorian neighbourhood lined with large, red brick semi-detached houses in Chiswick, West London.
The building had become tired and in need of extensive refurbishment to bring it back to life. The priorities for the works were to refurbish the existing fabric of the house (every surface and finish being upgraded or refurbished), remodelling some elements of the existing layout and providing extra living accommodation.
Through collaboration with the client the proposals for the design include a ground floor, single storey extension and a loft conversion, both to the rear elevation of the existing house. This extra space will provide a new kitchen / living space at ground floor and a bedroom, en-suite & dressing room at the newly formed second floor.
No surface is to be left untouched internally with all walls, floors & ceilings having structural or aesthetic improvements, whilst retaining the existing period features as far as possible.
