Ulster University Sports centre, Coleraine

The project consists of the construction of a new sports facility within the Coleraine Campus of Ulster University, Works included mechanical, electrical and landscaping packages.

This project delivered a multi-use sports facilities with 12 courts and two large indoor pitches in addition to changing rooms, studio and fitness suite, offices, and a sports lounge. The new sports facility are located adjacent the University’s existing sports pitches on the Coleraine campus.

The project was constructed in a live university campus – all works were monitored closely by the site manager to ensure that levels of noise and dust were kept to a minimum. The site was serviced by the existing public road (North Road entrance from Cromore Road.) Our traffic management plan took into account local traffic patterns and managed deliveries and site movement accordingly. Close collaboration with the University and relevant parties ensured that any problems that arose were dealt swiftly and accordingly.

This project was awarded a considerate constructor’s scheme ‘performance beyond compliance’ certificate and achieved BREEAM Excellent.
