Dungannon Integrated College Sports Facilities

Integrated College Dungannon is an integrated secondary school situated in Dungannon, County Tyrone. This project delivered enhanced sporting facilities to the school community. The pitch was the first in the Education Authority’s vast portfolio of sports pitches to be accredited by the governing bodies of all three of the main sporting bodies in Northern Ireland (FIFA, IRFU and GAA) simultaneously.

The project was delivered in a live school environment, as a result of good planning and an excellent working relationship with the school itself, the day-to-day running of the school itself remained largely unaffected.

Key Features:

  • New floodlit 3G pitch and associated works
  • New sports hall facility, constructed on a pile driven ground beam with retaining wall structure constructed to help load ground floor
  • A Kalzip roof was used and installed early to allow building to continue regardless of weather conditions
  • Passenger lift installed
  • Building finished with paint grade internal doors, vinyl flooring and a sports floor with suspended ceilings and fitted furniture throughout.
  • External works involved paving around the building for pedestrian access, external steps with associated handrails and external lighting
