Building 104, Ebrington Barracks
This project was for refurbishment of the former accommodation block at Ebrington Barracks, the building was originally constructed between 1895 and 1904.
This was a design and build project. We, along with our design team, worked closely in conjunction with our client and their representatives in delivering a high quality, end product constructed within the appropriate timeframe within the confines of the original budget.
Key Features:
- Demolition of small outshot to rear centre of the building
- New internal masonry wall constructed to form new hallway
- Extension to be built in place of demolished building. Building makeup consisted of brick plinth, zinc cladding sandwiched between curtain walling
- The existing roof was stripped of its original slates, ridge tiles, lath and felt and refitted with salvaged Bangor Blue slates
- Existing PVC windows were removed and replaced with new timber sliding sash windows
- Existing external doors were replaced
- Repairs were made to any structural timbers within the building itself upon further inspection by specialists
- Complete new M&E installations and Plant Room
- New internal office space constructed primarily using stud partitions and suspended ceilings
- 2nr new escape staircases were installed to each side of the building
- Passenger lift installed
- Complete redecoration of the entire interior with new floor finishes, lime plaster repairs and tiling
- Site works included the introduction of additional foul/storm drainage
- New paved areas constructed for access with glass balustrading
- Surfacing to footpath and occupants carpark
- Extensive planting and shrubbery
- Tight control of Health and Safety led to zero accidents or incidents on site during construction
