Bready Cricket Club, Co. Tyrone

Built by Woodvale Construction, this project was for the construction of a new cricket pavilion including bar/function area, multi-purpose sports hall, fitness suite, changing facilities, stores and associated external works including retaining walls, roadways, parking and paved areas.

Bready Cricket Club has an excellent reputation for cricketing excellence, and this new centre of excellence aims to attract those who would not normally participate in sport to enjoy the leisure facilities at their disposal.

The fitness suite and sports hall offers a light and airy environment that provides the perfect space for workout.

The fitness suite includes a gym facility complete with additional changing rooms, toilets, and storage. The facility also has 6 changing room facilities and showers with full accessibility for people with disabilities.

Key Features:

  • The building is constructed in blockwork cavity insulated walls with a Kalwall section to the sports hall on strip foundations, in-situ reinforced concrete and precast concrete slabs, standing seam zinc and trocal roofing, and the project included for significant external works and drainage
  • Difficult split level site requiring large retaining walls
  • A Just-in-Time delivery programme was developed as it wasn’t possible to store a large amount of materials on site as the cricket club required access to their pitch throughout the duration of the contract
